Christmas is about giving, helping, and spending quality time with your family. These three movies show why you should do these things. Elf
Elf is a classic Christmas movie about a human who was raised as an elf in Santa’s village. After finding out that he is not a real elf Buddy goes looking for his real human father. He meets his father and his father’s new family and he stays with them. Buddy’s new family thinks Buddy is crazy because Buddy thinks he is an elf. Buddy’s father doesn’t have a lot of Christmas spirit so it takes his voice to help Santa on Christmas to deliver all the presents. This movie is a great mix of comedy and fantasy and I would recommend it as a great movie to watch over the Winter break.
The Grinch
The Grinch is another classic movie to watch during the Christmas season. The Grinch is a green, hairy, pot-bellied, pear-shaped, snub-nosed creature with a cat-like face and big grudge against Christmas. He has spent the past 53 years living on a cliff, overlooking the town of Whoville, with his dog max. One day he decides to cancel Christmas for the Whos. He pretends to be Santa and steals all the Christmas trees, the lights and decorations, the presents, and the food. But then he sees the Whos still happy without all those things and gives them back. He is then invited to dinner by Mary Jo and he suddenly understands the true meaning of Christmas. Again I think this is perfect for the holiday season.
The Christmas Chronicles
The Christmas Chronicles is a great movie to watch during the helping and giving season. This movie is about a girl who loves Christmas and thinks Santa is real and her brother who doesn’t think Santa is real and hates Christmas. One night Kate (the girl who loves Christmas) decides to catch Santa and her brother (Pierce) helps. When they see him they follow him and end up in his sleigh. When Santa sees them in his sleigh he is so surprised that he loses his reindeer. So then Kate, Pierce and Santa set off to find the reindeer and the present bag. After Kate finds the present bag she crawls inside it and is transported to the north pole where she meets the elves. They help her find her brother and Santa. After Kate and Pierce help Santa give a present to all of America, Santa helps them get back home and enjoy Christmas with their mother.
