Mr. Grob is going to New Mexico!

Ken Grob

Mr. Grob, having been in Baku for three years, has had an undeniably positive and calming influence on the TISA community as the MYP Science and DP Biology teacher. His dedication to his subject and his students, paired with his travels around Azerbaijan made him a delight to listen to both inside and out of class.

The trait that stands out to most students about Mr. Grob is his down-to-earth nature and particularly supportive attitude during online teaching — I especially remember how our class would always be encouraged to learn about the modern day applications of the content we learned, such as us learning about the Covid-19 measures and vaccination process in parallel to our unit on the human body and defense against diseases.

His attention to detail and extensive support in the form of supplementary content pushed our class, and so many other students, to do better and be better. I believe the lessons I learned from Mr. Grob from his time at TISA are some of the most valuable lessons I will come across: to always be curious, to push for more and be engaged and aware of the world around you.

I speak on behalf of the entire TISA community when I say that we are eternally grateful for Mr. Grob and all of his hard work. We will always remember you for your affinity for sandals, hiking and (obviously) biology!
